I'm not really sure what I was thinking when I decided to participate in this contest. Some of the biggest fanatics and artists are joining in and I feel like such a small fish. I refuse to just give up without trying though so in this post you'll find all my entry data. This is easier for both Hikari and me because else we'd be spamming each other constantly. The original assignment was to create a Digimon AMV with original music. People complained a lot because not everyone is good at video editing. In the end she decided that participants have to create an AMV, picture, short writing and reply to the questions she posted in the forum. This might seem like a lot but some of her prizes are collectibles and can run up to 150 euro in value. I believe this is minimal effort for a value of that kind. Below you'll find my entries, feel free to rate and perhaps send some luck my way.
Why are you entering this contest?
I would be lying if I said it was not to win a prize. My priority though was to do something around Digimon. It reminds me of when I was just a little girl sitting in the couch waiting for the show to start. The theme song still brings back memories. I also wanted to compete against other wonderful artists to see how far my skill has evolved the last few years. To be honest I had a lot of fun ^__^ I wouldn't mind another themed contest without prizes this time and perhaps a longer deadline.
Who do you think will be your nemesis?
My biggest fear was Shioriko. She is a pain in the behind to compete against and as expected she delivered awesome quality in all her work.
What is your favourite Digimon season?
Even though I grew up with Digimon Adventure I seem to like Digimon Savers/Data Squad better. I am an absolute Gaomon fan who squeels when he says "Yes, master." The newest season of Digimon Xros Wars seems even more promising and I absolutely adore the Xros loader. The design is way more complicated than that of the previous digivices.
Who is your favourite Digimon charater?
I think that must be Zoe/Kazemon. Nothing beats a pinkish/purplish girl with an attitude. Compared to the girls of Adventure she has a much better in-depth personality.
Who is your favourite Digimon?
Lopmon...no wait...Terriermon...or maybe Gaomon...Rabbitmon is cute too...argh @_@ it is so hard to pick. Can't I like them all? .__. I guess my current top three would be Lopmon, Terriermon and Gaomon. Faithful puppy, sarcastic bunny and a gender-confused one to complete the team.
Would you exchange the Real World for the Digital one if you could?
Hell yush~! On one condition though, I would need my precious Puppy with me. So I guess you need to ask him.
Last but not least, why should I give you anything?
Because you keep asking me these darn difficult questions! *rages* Hmm...why you should give me something? You know I am not just participating because there are material things to obtain. You have seen my tiny digi-collection from 2005 and beyond and know I take awesome care of it. (Maybe a little too good...) I have been an active and helpful member on 'With the Will' even though I might not be the most experienced one. You have seen the effort I put into the Xros Soul team, the effort I take to go out of my way to help weaker players, the way I train my three partners, the drama I have to take... (Not to mention my insta-kick reputation...) Either way the end decision is yours to make ^__^ I had fun doing this and I'm satisfied with the result. I really hope there will be more of these in the future, pretty please? :3

PICTURE
SHORT WRITING
It all started when she was 9. Usagine Mayu just celebrated her ninth birthday and she was the sweetest little thing. She often came into my library, even the day after her birthday wearing her brand new pink cap and two dolls. One attached to her hat and one she carried. The one on her hat was brown, had two cute ears and a shy smile. The one she was holding was green, also having two adorable ears but a more cheeky smile.
"Hi there Mayu. Who are these cute fellows?"
"This is Kokomon" she said as pointed to the one on her head, "And this is Gummymon." gesturing to the other one she was holding.
"They are very cute dolls."
"They are not dolls. They're Digimon." She smiled as she went to get a picture book from the children's section. I waved her big brother over.
"Where did she find those amazing dolls?"
"They kind of just appeared. I have no idea. She just came into the house with them one day. I can't get her to let them go. She sleeps with them, talks to them, it's really quite cute."
I thought they were cute names for the two dolls. I was very wrong. She never left the house without the two friends by her side. I saw her in the grocery store, the pharmacy, the playground...everywhere she went, they went too.
After about a month, she came in with different dolls. One looked just like Kokomon, except with brown and green fur and longer rabbit-like ears, while the other one looked like a replica of the first in different green and white colours.
"Who are these cuties?"
"This is Lopmon and this is Terriermon."
"What happened to Kokomon and Gummymon?"
"They digivolved."
I took that as it meant she replaced them.
"Alright Mayu. Would you like to pick out another book?"
"Sure! Terriermon would like an adventure book while Lopmon wants a romantic one. Can I have one with both?"
"Sure thing" I smiled and led her to the child-friendly romance books.
After that she didn't come in for about 3 weeks. This time she was still carrying the two dolls from before but they seemed like bigger versions. She talked to both of them just like they were actually real. When her 10th birthday came around, I asked her big brother why she didn't throw them away. The way she treated them it seemed like they were still her best friends. She never talked to any real children her age and I figured she needed to meet some new children. The way she treated those dolls was just not healthy for a child her age.
Her big brother laughed and replied, "They are more real than you could imagine. She already has two best friends. Why would she need more than that?"
The following weeks Mayu started to carry around a device that would beep causing her to leave in a hurry. She started coming to the library alone since her brother trusted her to be by herself now. He had said the two dolls were all she could ever need. She started visiting less and less, and I did not see her again until a few days before her 11th birthday.
She walked in talking out loud to her dolls and asking their opinion. She checked out a bunch of books about camping and I decided to question her during the checkout.
"Wow Mayu, is your family going on a camping trip?"
She seemed quite hesitant to answer, "No, no plans to take a camping trip" she said as she added a little smile.
"Would you like to go camping?"
"No, not really." she answered, seeming a little annoyed by my questions.
"Then why are you checking out all these camping and wilderness survival guides?"
She sighed and quickly replied, "I need to know how to survive just in case I get stranded somewhere." as she rolled her eyes at me.
I knew she was lying. Maybe she was planning on running away and living on her own? I didn't know and could not interfere more than I already had.
That was also the last time I saw her for six months.
I read in the newspaper that Usagine Mayu and seven other children had vanished on the exact same day. They had left everything behind except their precious dolls. There were no clues as the children showed no similarities besides the dolls and lived in totally different states. Some people suspected kidnapping, others thought they were just runaways driven by their imagination. Some people even claimed totally unrelated murders could be possible. Me, I just hoped I would see that little girl walking into my library again some day.
It was 3 years before I saw her again. She had changed so much that I hardly recognized her. She was about 6 inches taller, now having long hair and a more tanned, still wearing her pink cap. Where did the shy little girl who loved to read go? This girl felt totally different. She was more confident in her steps and had a serious look on her face. The only reason I recognized her in the first place was because she was still carrying Lopmon and Terriermon.
"Mayu? Mayu Usagine?"
"Hey there" she said in a new unfamiliar voice ''Wow, time sure does pass differently in the Digital World.'' she pondered to herself before adressing me again, "Could we go somewhere and talk, privately?"
I gave her a weird look but decided to take her into the little private reading room in the back.
"What happened to you? Where did you go? Is all this related to the other seven disappearances?"
"I'll explain the whole story. Lopmon, paper and pencil please." The doll, Lopmon, suddenly flew off her head to retrieve a pencil.
"Ms. Librarian-lady. Meet Terriermon and Lopmon." Dani smiled crookedly.
The doll in her arms jumped out onto the table, and introduced itself politely.
"My name is Terriermon, very nice to meet you." he bowed as Lopmon returned with some writing utensils.
"I am Lopmon, how nice to finally be able to speak to you"
I was in total shock and stared at the two moving creatures in front of me. "They're alive? But how?"
"I told you they are not dolls. They are Digimon. Digital Monsters. That is the reason I had to leave."
"What are you saying? These things made you vanish for six months? Only six months yet you look so different!"
"It was actually three years if I recall but it counts as only one year in The Digital World."
"The Digital World? One year?"
"The Digital World is where these creatures originated from. The Real World and The Digital World are so connect that their fates are intertwined. If the Digital World get destroyed so will the Real World dissapear."
I was breathing loudly, shocked at the fact that this 13-year old girl was talking about keeping the world from being destroyed.
"Wait. What about the other choldren that vanished?"
"The other seven children and me are called Digidestined. Human children chosen to restore and maintain the balance inside The Digital World."
"So you're like a balancing scale?" I eyed her with an incredulous look in my eyes.
She laughed. "Yes, and these are my partners." Terriermon and Lopmon looked up from the picture they were trying to draw on the papers.
"So how did you get into the Digital World in the first place? I mean, wouldn't Scientists have discovered it before you?"
"I simply used this." She held up a red and white device. "This is a Digivice but that's a whole different story. Scientists can't discover or reach the Digital World without this."
I stared at her for a while. "Why are you explaining this to me? What about your family? Will you stay here now?"
"We needed someone to inform the world that the eight dissapeared children are safe and sound. I chose you and the other children agreed. I'm actually staying for today only. The Digital World needs us, all of us. We are to become Guardians of the Digital World. Neither of us will be coming back until we are no longer needed. I told my family about it and I do send them pictures and keep in contact."
"Why are you needed anyway?" I asked as I looked down at the two creatures having a quarrel about who got to use the yellow crayon.
"A diabolical Digimon set out to destroy the Digital World hoping to gain entrance into the Real World. He almost succeeded so it will take years to restore the Digital World back to its original condition."
As she spoke the device beeped.
"It seems that I am needed elsewhere now." she smiled. Lopmon flew up onto her hat and Terriermon into her arms.
"I hope you will share our story with the world to ease the panic our dissapearance has caused. For now, I must go. May I perhaps use your computer?"
I nodded, shocked at how little time she had been here. I watched her turn on the old computer in the room, launching the internet and typing out a website.
She held up the device to the screen, spoke some words I could not make out and vanished into thin air just like she had three years before that.
I stared at the screen and saw a little pop-up window featuring a little cat-like doll sporting the words 'Thank you!' in bright neon-green letters. I sighed, "I guess the Digital World really is digital."
"Hi there Mayu. Who are these cute fellows?"
"This is Kokomon" she said as pointed to the one on her head, "And this is Gummymon." gesturing to the other one she was holding.

Grats kid! U did well, cool picture btw.
As expected of Mayu-san. Knew youd pwn this, your digimon look very nice.
Congratulations, Mayu! As requested I'll post your full score here as well.
AMV 8/10
PIC 9/10
STO 9/10
QUE 9/10
TOTAL 35/40
This makes you 4th out of 37 which gives you the first silver medal. We loved your originality and the effort you put into this is quite amazing. If you would have reached the deadline in time and had been able to get original material for the AMV you would have ended even higher. Great job, keep the Xros Soul members in line!
I know you like stuffed animals but since you ended so high up in the ranking we decided to send you something else you'll like with a higher estimated value that will perfectly add to your collection. A beautiful Japan exclusive that will probably be watered down if it ever reaches the American market. It should arrive within two days through EMS. I hope you enjoy! Great job and keep the Xros Soul members in line.
Btw...you ended up two places higher than Shioriko ;-) rub it in her face!
Yay ^__^ thankies very much~! I would have been happy with a lower valued prize as well though or just the consolation prize. A Japan exclusive...wow...never expected that. Still multiple possibilities though, why won't you tell me? Such a meanie...thankies in advance either way. I'm sure I'll like it very much!
*cheers* so happy for you :-)
